How to make a healthy dog treat for the holidays – Cheesy Italian Pup Cakes
With Christmas around the corner, I wanted to make a savory and healthy treat dog treat for my pack. Since I had the ingredients to make spaghetti sauce this weekend, I decided to create a hearty Italian pup cake! Both my dogs and my cat loved the results! A healthy dog treat is SO important and it is FUN to cook for my pups! These Cheesy Italian Pup Cakes turned out DELICIOUS! My pack gobbled them up SUPER FAST! I used Oat Flour and added some pawPairings® Superfood Seasoning Italian Blend to the mix and as a topper to really add some flavor. In addition, I have fresh basil on hand so I chopped some up and added to the mix. Not sure what herbs you can add, check out this article. I hope you enjoy and SHARE!
Cheesy Italian Pup Cakes
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 Cups Oat Flour
- 3 Ounces Cream Cheese Softened (30 Seconds in Microwave)
- 2 whole eggs
- 3 Leaves Fresh Basil
- 1/2 Cups Rolled Oats
- 1/4 Cups Shredded Cheese
- 2 teaspoons pawPairings® Superfood Seasoning Italian Blend
Instructions
- Preheat Oven to 350 F
- Add flour and oats to mixing bowl and mix well
- Add Cream Cheese and Mix
- Add both Eggs and Mix
- Add pawPairings, Cheese and Fresh Basil.
- Mix everything to form thick dough
- Spoon Batter into pan ( I use silicon paw pan but muffin pans would be perfect) Fill up completely – pup cakes will not rise.
- Sprinkle with pawPairings and bake 15 minutes
