WHERE did you GO?
If you are a regular follower of the Pawsitive Dog Mom, you might be wondering what happened to me. Unless you aren’t paying attention, you probably noticed that I haven’t been very present lately. Not on Social Media, not with my email list and not on my website – I just did a little SHAZAM and POOF – I was gone. Ok …. I guess it is time I fess up.
I didn’t move to some amazing tropical islands with my dogs and I am not hiding from the FBI – I went back to teaching.
YOU did WHAT?
OK – Hear me out – For those of you that follow me – you are probably thinking, WHY?
The short version, because I was invited. As a projector I am always on the look out for the right invitations and as much as I wanted to jump in to my coaching gig full time – I just wasn’t being invited so it just felt very frustrating. When the opportunity came up for me to go back into teaching in a completely different grade and location, after long deliberation I figured what the heck…..
Honestly I didn’t even update my resume – I just showed up at the interview with the attitude – if this is meant to be, the job will be mine and if not, I don’t even care. Of course, like magic – I was offered the job.
Back to the classroom
I think after my last experience I was sure that I would not go back, but I found myself getting really excited. Not only would I be working with a good friend, I would be in a different grade and different subject. A fresh new start. Despite the fact the year was a bit rocky in the beginning and I immediately regretted my decision because of the demands of my time and energy, once I made it to November I found my groove. Life was good –
For the first time in a long time, I am enjoying teaching. Now – I am not saying I am going to teach another 30 years and retire at my job, but I feel like this invitation is leading me to my next exciting chapter – To be determined but I am enjoying the ride 🙂
Since I am back in education, this time around I have been able to experience a 100% digital classroom for the first time and I am in love. I am able to use my skills as a creator to make my life easier and to really help prepare my kids for the future, digital classrooms.
Since I am dusting off my educator skills, I decided to start getting back into my creative space with graphic design to offer teacher tools for everyday teachers. My goal is to create easy, time saving templates for teachers to use in their classroom. I love creating and I love helping people so it is a great way for me to do both.
Teacher Tools: Time saving tools for teachers
I am in the process of creating a “Teacher Tools” section to my website. I will be specializing in time saving tools for teachers including Canva Templates. We use Canva almost every day in my classroom and I don’t think most teachers realize what an amazing tool that is available for FREE for all teachers.
Since I use it for my own business, I pay for a professional version and I have the educator version for free. I use it everyday!
If you want to get teacher freebies and teacher tool updates, make sure to join my Teacher Tool List.
Don’t worry – I should be getting back to sharing some great dog mom tips again soon as well – I just needed to take a bit of break. It is important for me to follow my inspiration and creativity and watch for those invitations.
