What life is like as Profile Line 1
I am going to tell you a little story about why I opened the craft shack up and went back to crafting: Lately, I have been reading different books and listening to podcasts about learning to manifest your best life. Honestly, I love to learn, that is definitely part of me being a 5/1 in human design, in fact, THAT line 1 in my profile is all about being an investigator. 80% of the time I am reading or watching something that is teaching me a skill.
Honestly, I don’t even care what, I just love to learn. The fact that I am telling you that I was learning while I was learning should give you a sneak peek at who I am when you pull back the covers. BUT – I digress. As I have studied human design and manifestation, I realized that one of the key aspects of manifesting is to continue to do something that you love and to really stay true to your zone of genius.
Finding my Zone of Genius
Yes – Indeed it is true, everyone is good at something. Really good – in fact that ONE thing that you are really good at, you probably don’t even realize it because you are SO GOOD AT IT! Kinda funny when you think about it. It is most likely that what you are really gifted at, you don’t even realize. When you do it, time passes without you even realizing it. It is like you entered a vortex and time stops.
I certainly had no idea what I was good at. I love to learn, I love to teach, I love crafting, I love to write, I love to bake, I love to sing, I love photography, I love creating graphics, creating training, creating programs – the list goes on and on – but I couldn’t seem to figure out how this related to my zone of genius.
Aha – then it hit me. When I really reflected on WHAT I was good at that I did SO naturally that I wouldn’t even notice it. I am a creator. Everything on that list is about me creating something. Creating something beautiful from nothing – AND – That is something that I can do all day long. That is NOT something that everyone finds intuitive, but for me – creating is like breathing air. It just comes naturally.
Looking back now, it makes so much sense. I get so bored when I have to repeat tasks over and over – Every part of my business that I love is all about the creation of something, but NOT the maintenance of it. I get excited and in the Zone when I am allowed to create – without limits. The amazing part is that every time I look at through the lens of human design, there is something in my design that confirms what I feel in my soul. Indeed – so very cool so it shouldn’t be surprising that I continue to study human design. It allows me to create new doors in my world.
Why working on what you love is important for manifesting
So armed with my Zone of genius, I knew in order to really begin to manifest what I want in my life, I needed to stay in my zone of genius. I need to allow myself to create. What I realized is that in my day to day business operation, I did get to create some, but most of the time it wasn’t creating from a place of joy, it was creating from a place of necessity and they are two different end points. I needed to create from a place of joy and I realized why I loved crafting so much.
Crafting is one of the most delightful ways for me to create something new and beautiful. Let’s not forget, I have all the cool tools. What once was my craft shack became my office. It’s not a bad thing, but every day I came to my craft shack, the place I loved the most and instead of crafting, I worked. I didn’t create, I worked. It should be surprising that I had lost my joy – I wasn’t allowing my soul to do the one thing that it really longed to do, create something beautiful.
Crafting is back on the menu
The moment I fired up my sewing machine and started to create again from a place of joy, it was amazing how the universe responded. Within a few days I had received multiple invitations to begin to craft (which is a HUGE deal for a projector) and in fact my best friend called me up out of the blue and told me I was so creative and talented, she didn’t know why I didn’t sell my crafts.
Ahhh – Life is funny like that. The moment I allowed myself to be open to opportunity from the Universe, BOOM. There it is. What a perfect time to start crafting again. I have been busy creating such fun holiday crafts! I decided to open up my ETSY shop and just start to create things that bring me joy and hopefully bring joy to others. The craft shack is officially open, again.
The Journey ahead
So at the end of the day – I realize to manifest the life I want, I have to allow my soul to do work that brings it joy. It doesn’t mean I am going to get rich making crafts, that is not the point, but on the other hand, it’s impossible to know what the universe has in front of me.
