I’m a dog mom

I have many jobs. I am a wife, I am a sister, I am an aunt, I am a crafter, I am a creator, I am a teacher, I am a friend, but my favorite job of all is being a Dog Mom! To me, there is nothing more satisfying in the world than curling up next to you favorite furry friend. When I come home, no one is more excited to see me than Biscuit…. NO ONE!

I have always loved critters. I grew up with critters. Critters of all shapes and sizes – I just love them, wild or domestic. My heart, belongs to the dog. As an adult, ironically I avoided getting dogs. I knew once a dog entered into my life, I would belong to my dogs and that is so true! I avoided pet stores on the weekend and at the time, there wasn’t social media like Facebook so as long as I steered clear of the pet store, I wouldn’t be tempted to take the plunge. One day, February 2, 2012 Fate, as it seems, found me. This is the day I found my true calling and became a Dog Mom.

If you are a dog mom, you know exactly what I am talking about. The first time you make real eye contact with a dog – you know you belong to them forever. My husband and I were placed in a unique situation – We could accept the challenge in front of us and try to save the lives of the beautiful babies that had found their way to us or we could continue to run from our destiny. It wouldn’t be an easy road – and it wasn’t it a guarantee we could start this little family because from the moment Java and Jumbaco entered our lives they were in for the fight of their lives, they had Parvo!
