Selecting the best dog food
As a dog mom, aside from shelter, selecting the best dog food should be a top priority. The health, happiness, and longevity of your dog depends on this one decision. As part of my journey as a dog mom, it is time for me to try a new dog food. Overall, I was happy with my dog food, but I knew I could do better. I decided that the best way to select the best food for my dogs was to first educate myself. So, I started with education.
Begin with education
As a Science teacher by trade, learning about biology and nutrition is just part of my everyday life. I spent several weeks completing DNM’s online program for Pet Food Nutrition Specialist. As a certified Pet Food Nutrition Specialist, I can read pet food labels to assess the quality of food. This course gives you the tools to select the best dog food for your pet if you are looking for consumer pet foods. On a side note, we realize that most people believe a RAW food diet is best, but it is not always a practical choice depending on your situation.
Our Journey with pawTree
After completion of my course, I began the journey to select a healthy food my dogs. After much scrutiny of the company and ingredients, I decided to go with pawTree. I believe it is the best dog food for my current fur family.
Over the next few weeks, I will be introducing my readers to pawTree. I will be taking my readers on a journey to see if changing my dog food will improve the health of Biscuit. He is definitely the most picky dog I own. He often turns his nose up at his kibble. I am looking forward to seeing if we can improve his health and get him excited about meal time.

I hope you enjoy the video below. This is Biscuit’s first experience with pawTree. Spoiler alert – He actually selects pawTree kibble first before the fresh ham steak.
